It may help some people with the low mood, negative thinking, and stress that can come with depression, as a complement to professional care. It is not a treatment or cure, and is not a substitute for medical help.

Should I stop my medication or therapy?

No. Never change or stop prescribed treatment without talking to your doctor. Hypnotherapy is used alongside professional care, not instead of it.

When should I see a doctor instead?

If your mood is severe, persistent, or you have any thoughts of self-harm, contact a doctor or a crisis line right away. Hypnotherapy is not appropriate as a sole treatment for clinical depression.

Can I do it online?

Yes. Many practitioners offer sessions over video, alongside your professional care.
